Idris
A Man of Truth and a Prophet · also called Enoch · إدريس
ChristianityIslam
Idris, peace be upon him, is named twice in the Quran, which calls him a man of truth and a prophet and says Allah raised him to a high station. Many scholars identify him with Enoch, though the Quran does not say so. The Quran is the final word on his story, and the earlier books are read in its light.

1.
“And mention in the Book, Idrees. Indeed, he was a man of truth and a prophet.”
Idris is called “a man of truth and a prophet.”
2.
“And [mention] Ishmael and Idrees and Dhul-Kifl; all were of the patient.”
He is counted among the patient, together with Ishmael and Dhul-Kifl.

The Bible
Enoch, whom many identify with Idris · Genesis and Hebrews, in the King James Version
Genesis 5:24
“And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.”
Hebrews 11:5
“By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.”
Christians and Jews read these Bible passages differently. This page presents them as the Quran frames them, with the Quran as the final revelation and the measure for what came before.
